Curriculum
Project Development and Management

The project development and management section of the curriculum outlines several related models for addressing community health concerns. In general, they all help to plan, implement and evaluate an intervention while considering the factors that shape health status and the existing social systems that support or constrain efforts. The models may be used in conjunction with one another. Or, it may be necessary to develop a blended model that addresses a particular need or context. In using any of these models, it is important to remember and embrace the spirit of the model and to actively involve all stakeholders throughout all stages of the process.

The models for Project Implementation and Management include:
          CBPR—Community-Based Participatory Research
          COPC—Community-Oriented Primary Care
CQI/PDCA—Continuous Quality Improvement and Plan, Do, Check, Act
          PRECEDE/PROCEED
