The Department of Integrative Systems Biology (ISB) is a basic science department within the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
The 35 primary faculty of the Department are located at Children’s National Medical Center, within the Research Center for Genetic Medicine. About half of faculty are physician/scientists. Faculty come from many clinical and basic research subdisciplines, forming a synergistic group that shares the focus of improving the health of children in the DC region, and worldwide.
Faculty within ISB work closely with other Departments at GWUMC, and other Centers at CNMC. Prospective PhD candidates are encouraged to apply to the GWIBS program, and the Systems Biology concentration within the Molecular Medicine track.
