Orotta School of Medicine: IMP established a relationship with the Orotta School of Medicine in Eritrea during 2008. Opened in 2003, Orotta is the first medical school in this east-African nation. Through GWUMC’s efforts with the Partnership for Eritrea, Orotta Medical School students will begin residencies in the country’s first graduate medical education programs when they graduate. IMP’s partnership with Orotta School of Medicine also allows GW fourth-year medical students to spend time in Eritrea doing clinical electives.
