Meet the Staff

Kate Simpkinson
Executive Coordinator

Kate Simpkinson is the Executive Coordinator at the Office of International Medicine Programs at The George Washington University Medical Center. Ms. Simpkinson graduated from Boston College with a Bachelor of Arts in Hispanic studies and communications, in addition to studying Spanish literature at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in Spain.

Prior to joining the IMP, Ms. Simpkinson was a member of the Global Initiative team at the Council on Competitiveness. Previously, she spent several years teaching and mentoring international students at Georgetown Preparatory School and various study abroad and language programs in Madrid, Spain. Ms. Simpkinson also collaborates as an interpreter with Somos Amigos Medical Missions in the Dominican Republic.

As Executive Coordinator, Ms. Simpkinson provides administrative, logistical and developmental support to the Executive, Medical and Program Directors on all IMP programs. She also helps coordinate activities and internships for 1st and 2nd year medical students in the Global Health Track.
