Meet the Staff

Brian Jay McGrath, M.D., MPH
Medical Academic Coordinator

Dr. McGrath is currently an Associate Professor, Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine; an Attending Physician in the ICU; an Attending Anesthesiologist; and Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education and Administration at the George Washington University Medical Center. Dr. McGrath is board certified in Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine.

Dr. McGrath received his BA degree from State University of New York at Albany, his MD degree from Albany Medical College and his MPH from The George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services. Dr. McGrath continued his training and completed an internship in Surgery at Northwestern University, Chicago, Illinois; Residency training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts; and a Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine from Stanford University Medical Center, Stanford, California from 1977-2002. Dr. McGrath currently treats patients in Critical Care Medicine.

With the Office of International Medicine, Dean McGrath has been involved in the Partnership for Eritrea Pediatrics and Surgery Residency Clinic and several other projects.
