The mission of the department is to foster outstanding
research and teaching
of immunology for both graduate and medical students. Our department focuses
on understanding how the immune system develops, how tolerance is learned
by both B cells and T cells, and how it may be regulated. The labs in this
department focus on gene therapy, cell death pathways, cytokines and cytokine
signaling, immune modulation pathways, T-cell development and TCR signaling,
cancer immunotherapy, affinity chromatography, as well as apoptosis mediators.
