HSPI's Policy & Research Forums spotlight cutting-edge policy solutions and innovative research. For years, many leading policymakers, practitioners, academicians, and researchers from the U.S. and abroad have chosen to share their insights at HSPI. The Forum features these leading thinkers in a more systematic way designed to better highlight their work and ensure it receives even greater exposure in key communities.
No upcoming Policy & Research Forums are scheduled at this time. Click the "RSVP" button in the upper right-hand corner of your screen to register for our mailing list. We will notify you of upcoming events open to the public.
A trusted destination for decision-makers, HSPI’s Policy & Research Forum most recently featured John Brennan, Assistant to the President for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism, together with the co-chairs of Presidential Study Directive-1, to discuss reform of White House organization for homeland security and counterterrorism. The Institute also featured the majority and minority staff leadership of the Senate and House homeland security committees, for a discussion on “Homeland Security Priorities for the 111th Congress,” at the outset of a new Congressional term and a new Administration. Positioned at the forefront of debate, the series hosted FEMA Administrator R. David Paulison to reflect on “FEMA: Capabilities, Coordination and Capacity for the Future.” These events helped shape thinking in the capital at a crucial time, and encouraged a greater focus on function instead of form.
