Laura P. Keith
Policy Analyst
Ms. Keith joined the Homeland Security Policy Institute as a Policy Analyst in January 2007. She comes to HSPI from The Heritage Foundation, where she worked as a research assistant for homeland security. Ms. Keith began working with Heritage in August of 2005 and assisted in research on a number of issues in homeland security and defense, including U.S. Coast Guard modernization, border security, and visa policy reform.
Before her move to Washington, D.C. in August 2005, Ms. Keith was part of the team at the Public Interest Institute (PII) in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. As a Research Analyst at PII she published policy briefs and studies directed towards educating members of the Iowa Legislature and their constituents on various issues such as health policy options and state homeland security structures.
Ms. Keith graduated with a BA in Political Science and History from Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, in 2004. She grew up in Santa Fe, New Mexico and Orange City, Iowa, and now resides in the District of Columbia.
