Jordan Evert joined HSPI as a Presidential Administrative Fellow in August 2008. His primary areas of interest include Afghanistan-Pakistan, Middle East regional security, and special operations/low-intensity-conflict (SO/LIC).

In June 2009, Evert participated in "Nuclear Nonproliferation Safeguards and Security," an inaugural program sponsored by the National Nuclear Security Administration. He studied Arabic in Oman as a 2008 recipient of the U.S. Department of State Critical Languages Scholarship. In 2007, Evert was The George Washington University delegate to the 59th annual Student Conference on U.S. Affairs at West Point, where he contributed to a policy paper on weapons and materials proliferation.

Evert previously worked as a Senior Research Assistant at the National Defense Council Foundation, where he covered SO/LIC, covert action, and international security issues. He participated in NDCF’s advocacy efforts as well as represented the organization in meetings with government and private sector officials.He also interned with the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies and the Office of Senator Russ Feingold.

A member of Phi Beta Kappa, Evert graduated in 2008 with a B.A. in International Affairs from GW's Elliott School of International Affairs. He also studied at the Department of War Studies, King's College London. He is currently an M.A. candidate in Security Policy Studies at the Elliott School.
