GWid

Your GWid (George Washington Identification Number) is the key to unlocking most of the resources provided for you as a GWU student. This number is also used at GWU to identify an individual's records within our administrative systems.

A GWid is the letter 'G' followed by an eight-digit number. Once you have it, remember and protect this number. It serves the same function as a social security number elsewhere, therefore it should not be shared or made public in any way.

You have been assigned an individual GWid, and a letter containing your GWid is being sent to your permanent or W-4 address.  You can also retrieve your individual GWid online now.

For further information about your GWid please visit the GWid homepage.
