Military Program Health Science Laboratory Technology Certificate Program
The Health Science Laboratory Technology Certificate program is offered through an affiliation agreement between both the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy and The George Washington University (GW) School of Medicine and Health Sciences. All fees for the certificate portion have been paid through this contract agreement. Upon successful completion of the program, students will be awarded a Certificate of Completion and will have earned 60 semester hours of college-level credit at GWU. This will also allow students to sit for any national certification exam for Medical Laboratory Technician (the A.S. degree is not required).
During the certificate portion of the training, students are expected to focus their energies on the classes and clinical rotations and not pursue any additional, outside course work. The school is rigorous and students must complete the entire program with a grade point average (GPA) of 2.5.
Upon completion of the certificate program, students have the opportunity to pursue an Associate in Science degree from GWU by completing 12 additional credits. For more information on the A.S. degree option, click here.
