Upon submitting your application, the Health Sciences Office of Admissions will review your application, MLT coursework, and transfer credit transcripts to determine admission to the program. When admitted, they will send an acceptance package with instructions for completing the following steps toward the A.S. degree:

  1. All A.S. students MUST register for two (2) semesters of Continuous Enrollment (CE) with the George Washington University. GW policy mandates at least two (2) consecutive semesters of academic residence within the university prior to graduation. As a contract program with the U.S. Army and Navy, the MLT certificate program does not fulfill this requirement – Continuous Enrollment does.
  2. CE is not a regular class – there are no meetings, no assignments, and no grades. Students enrolled in continuous Enrollment are charged $35 per semester. These fees are the responsibility of the A.S. candidate.
  3. All students must submit an Application for Graduation to the Health Sciences Office of Student Services before the appropriate deadline. A.S. students are eligible for graduation at the end of the SECOND semester of Continuous Enrollment. Further, GW policy requires students to be registered for a course or continuous enrollment during their last semester before graduation. Therefore, it is important to submit your Application for Graduation for the correct semester.
  4. The university assesses a $100 graduation application fee for all graduating students and responsibility for payment lies with the student. Failure to submit the form by the deadline will result in an additional $35 late application fee. The Application for Graduation will be included in the acceptance package and is also available online through the GW Office of the Registrar’s website at http://www.gwu.edu/~regweb/web-content/onlineforms/applicationforgraduation.pdf

If your address changes, you should contact the Office of Student Services, or you can update your address through GWeb, available at http://my.gwu.edu under “gweb info system.” (To access your information in GWeb, you must use your GWid, which will be included in your acceptance packet.)
