Health Sciences
Secondary Field of Study

Program Requirements

Students must successfully complete 15 semester hours of the Health Sciences courses. At least 9 semester hours (three courses) must be selected from the following Health Sciences core:

• HSCI 101: Psychosocial Aspects of Health and Illness (3 semester hours)
• HSCI 102: Pathophysiology (3semester hours)
• HSCI 103: Health Policy and the Health Care System (3 semester hours)
  
• HSCI 104: Management of Health Science Services (3 semester hours)
• HSCI 105: Ethics for Health Professional (3 semester hours)
• HSCI 108: Quality Improvement in Health Care (3 semester hours)
• HSCI 109: Trends and Innovations in Health Care (3 semester hours)

In addition to the 3 courses chosen from the Health Sciences core, students choose the remaining 6 credits from the courses listed above or from approved courses in Health Sciences or Emergency Health Services, as approved by the academic advisor for the Secondary Field of Study. These courses include:

• EHS 107: Theory and Practice of Research in a Clinical Setting (4 semester hours)
• EHS 40: Emergency Medical Technician–Basic (3 semester hours)
• EHS 41: EMT–Basic Lab (1 semester hours)
