MSN: Health Care Quality

On-Campus Requirements

Students in the HCQ Program are required to complete one on-campus component. Students are responsible for all travel-related expenses.

Nursing Leadership Institute

All MSN students must attend the Nursing Leadership Institute. The insitute is attached to Nurs 203: Nursing Leadership. This three-and-one-half-day on-campus component is always held in the summer semester and generally in mid-July. Students are notified of the institute dates at least six months in advance.

When students register for Nurs 203, they are automatically enrolled in the Leadership Institute. The institute is preceded by seven weeks of online course work. Prominent health care leaders instruct students on implementing leadership skills into daily practice.

The institute also provides students with the opportunity to meet one another and their faculty members, consult with their advisers, visit campus, and tour Washington, D.C.
