Admissions

Entrance Requirements

Prospective students must have an earned bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher, is preferred. RNs with a bachelor's degree in a nursing-related field will be required to take a bridge course.

The GRE is not required for this program.

The MSN in the Field of Health Care Quality Program accepts students for the fall and spring semesters each year. The fall application deadline is April 1; the spring application deadline is November 15. Only completed application packets will be reviewed by the admissions committee. The committee reviews applications only after the deadline, and its decisions are generally sent out in late-April for fall matriculation and early December for spring.

Application Process
The GW School of Nursing participates in the online NursingCAS application system (Nursing Central Application Service).  All applicants must submit NursingCAS and GW Supplemental applications to the Office of Admissions for consideration to any nursing programs. Please go to http://www.nursingcas.org/ to begin the NursingCAS and  https://app.applyyourself.com/?id=gwu-smhs for the GW supplemental application.

The fee for using NursingCAS is based on the number of programs the applicant designates. A limited number of application fee waivers are available. Meeting NursingCAS’ eligibility criterion for a fee waiver does not guarantee a waiver will be granted for supplemental application fees.
