MSN: Family Nurse Practitioner

The Family Nurse Practitioner Program prepares registered nurses to deliver high-quality primary care to families and individuals of all ages. The program includes didactic learning experiences, which are delivered through an online education format. Students visit campus a few times during the course of the program to validate skills and consult with faculty. Simultaneous clinical experiences ensure that students meet all criteria to sit for the family nurse practitioner certification examination.

Program content includes pathophysiology and pharmacology, health assessment, health maintenance and promotion, and diagnosis and management of common primary care health concerns.

The program consists of 48 credits and is available on a full- and part-time basis.


Scholarship Opportunity

Five scholarships and three awards are available through the Nurse Practitioner Healthcare Foundation.

After experiencing tremendous growth for its fall 2007 admissions cycle, the Department of Nursing Education announced it will not be offering a spring enrollment for its Adult Nurse Practitioner Program. The application deadline for fall 2008 is March 30.
