End-of-Life Care Certificate Program

Program Requirements

Students in the certificate program must successfully complete 15 semester hours in the end-of-life care field, including 9 semester hours of required courses and 6 semester hours of elective courses.

Required Courses in the Field of End-of-Life Care
(9 semester hours):

• ELC 201: Grief and Bereavement (3)
• ELC 202: Spiritual Care (3)
• ELC 203: The Business of Dying (3)

Course Electives in the Field of End-of-Life Care
(6 semester hours):

• ELC 204: Loss: Mid-Life to Older Adulthood (3)
• ELC 205: Children and Loss (3)
• ELC 206: Caregiving for Caregivers (3)
• NURS 256: Introduction to Palliative Care (3)
