Mr. Tschudi earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology and health education from San Diego State University in 1981. He completed his master’s in community counseling at The George Washington University, where he also is earning a doctorate.
Professional & Research Interests
Mr. Tschudi is the founding director of the End-of-Life Care Programs, which are multidisciplinary, online programs that emphasize the psychosocial aspects of grief and loss, spirituality, the “business of dying,” and caring for the caregiver. Mr. Tschudi has worked for many years with people experiencing life-challenging illnesses, grief, and bereavement. He has had a private grief counseling practice and served for four years as the executive director of the St. Francis Center (now the Wendt Center), which counsels and educates people living with loss and illness.
Mr. Tschudi is also an adjunct lecturer in the School of Education and Human Development, where he teaches a graduate the course, “Living and Dying: A Counseling Perspective.” In addition, he conducts workshops, retreats, and classes for colleges, nonprofit organizations, and companies addressing issues of grief, bereavement, and spiritual care. He also has initiated and directed the End-of-Life Care Summer Institute, a three-day summit that educates master’s-level students and end-of-life care nurses on current issues in palliative care.
