The End-of-Life Care Nursing Program will prepare you to enter or advance in the interdisciplinary, challenging, and rewarding field of end-of-life care. Of the almost 3 million deaths occurring annually in the United States, the vast majority of these deaths will involve the services of a wide range of professionals including nurses, physicians, physician assistants, social workers, counselors, chaplains, and funeral directors. With more people needing care, there are fewer people available to give it or assist in its delivery. And for those of us who are currently involved in this care, many feel that there is a need for formal academic training to meet the increasing demands and complex issues, both professional and personal, in the care of our chronically ill and dying patients and their loved ones. The End-of-Life Care Nursing Program has been created to help meet these needs. The course work is delivered through distance education as well as selected on-campus experiences.
