Emergency Medical Technician
Basic Certification

Program Requirements

EHS 40: Emergency Medical Technician–Basic (3 credits)

To successfully complete the program, a student must obtain a Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation credential for professional rescuer prior to the end of the class.

This credential attests to the competency over the following skills: 

  • Adult, 1 and 2 person CPR
  • Child and infant CPR
  • Adult/child/infant obstructed airway maneuvers as defined by the 2005 American Heart Association Guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care.

The student will be required to pay an additional registration fee to take the District of Columbia and the National Registry certification exams.
