Emergency Medical Technician
Basic Certification

A one-semester program that covers patient assessment, bleeding control, bandaging, splinting and pre-hospital treatment of the sick as delivered by an ambulance technician.

The program includes a short field rotation as an observer on a 9-1-1 ambulance. 

At the successful completion of this program the student is eligible to take the EMT-Basic certification exam for the District of Columbia and the National Registry.
