Doctor of Physical Therapy Program
- Small Class Size
Our favorable student-to-teacher ratio allows us to work closely with students to personalize both their didactic and clinical experiences as they develop into health care professionals.
- Great Location
The Program’s location in the nation’s Capitol provides partnership opportunities with the DC Veterans Affairs Hospital, National Rehabilitation Hospital, and various community service organizations. Proximity to the American Physical Therapy Association provides students with opportunities to interact with leaders in the profession.
- Integrative Learning
Ongoing Clinical Conference courses help students integrate and apply knowledge learned throughout the curriculum to facilitate entry-level clinical practice. Also, early clinical immersion experiences help students to apply knowledge gained in the classroom to clinical situations.
- Standardized Patients
Use of standardized patients will help students sharpen their professional, interpersonal, and clinical skills prior to starting their internships and entry into practice.
- The “GW Experience”
Pursuit of the DPT degree at GW involves study at a nationally-ranked university on an urban campus affiliated with a School of Public Health, a Medical School, and a University Hospital. Interdisciplinary and intercollegiate community service activities are hallmarks of the “GW Experience.”
