Pediatrics

Early Intervention Outcomes: GW PT faculty are investigating factors that predict gains in development in children ages 0 - 3 years, as well as the validity and reliability of tools used to assess developmental delay.
GW PT Investigator: Dr. Maring

Friedreich Ataxia (FA): GW PT faculty are involved in studies measuring the impact of ataxia on functional movements and the relationship of the measurement to disease severity. Additionally, PT faculty are interviewing families to gain insight into quality and quantity of the rehabilitation services that families and children with FA have received.

Constraint Induced Therapy: Constraint induced therapy is being investigated in combination with interventions that emphasize motor learning on subsequent upper extremity function in children with cerebral palsy and hemiparesis.
