Education
Dr. DeLeo joined the faculty in July 2008. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Dr. DeLeo graduated with her Master of Physical Therapy Degree from The University of Delaware in Newark, Delaware, where she was also awarded the Director’s Award for special contributions to the Physical Therapy Program. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Professional & Research Interests
Dr. DeLeo has practiced physical therapy primarily in the area of outpatient orthopaedics. Her specialized areas of interest include patient/client management of running injury biomechanics, foot/ankle and knee pathologies and orthotics. Dr. DeLeo’s research interests include lower extremity biomechanics as well as clinical interventions and outcomes for musculoskeletal dysfunction. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Dr. DeLeo serves as the GWU Program in Physical Therapy Assistant Director of Clinical Education.
