Jennifer Halvaksz , PT, DPT, OCS

Assistant Professor and Director of Clinical Education

Education

Dr. Halvaksz completed her Master of Physical Therapy in 1997 from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. She participated in research to examine the relationship of strength, tone and balance on gait velocity in patients with traumatic brain injury. She went on to complete a post-professional Doctor of Physical Therapy at the University of Southern California in 2006 with a concentration in educational modules for entry level Doctor of Physical Therapy students.

Professional Interests

Dr. Halvaksz has over 10 years of clinical experience in acute care and outpatient orthopedic settings. She received her Board Certification as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist in 2005 and her areas of clinical interest include management of the client with cervico/thoracic and hip dysfunction. She began her career as a formal educator while practicing as a faculty clinician at the University of Southern California Department of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy. Her teaching expertise includes musculoskeletal evaluation/intervention in both entry level and continuing education arenas. Her research interests include development of clinical reasoning and curricular outcomes.
