Doctor of Nursing Practice
Students in the DNP Program are required to complete three on-campus components. Students are responsible for all travel-related expenses.
Students are required to attend an orientation session prior to beginning
their program. This approximately two-and-a-half to three day session
is held in the summer prior to the first semester of study. It is designed
to provide vital information to help students succeed in their program.
Additionally, students are afforded the opportunity to meet their cohort
group, faculty and staff.
At the end of their didactic work, students are required to present a
clinical research project proposal to their doctoral committee. This review
occurs in the summer after completion of NURS 498. Students will come
to campus for approximately two to three days.
After completing their clinical research project, students must present
their work to their committee and peers. This two to three day experience
will occur just prior to graduation. Doctoral graduates receive special
recognition at graduation. Graduation is held in mid- to late May.
