Clinical Research Administration
Bachelors Program

Clinical research administration is a vast and expanding field that involves the processes in which products (drugs, devices, biologicals) and treatment protocols are developed for patient care. The bachelor’s degree prepares health sciences professionals to participate in this field of science and business. The curriculum focuses on the scientific methods of clinical research, good clinical practices, and the regulatory guidelines that protect human subjects. The distance education format provides an option for self-disciplined and self-directed students to pursue the program.

We have learned that working adult students need to be able to take classes on a flexible schedule in order to maintain a balance in their professional, personal and student lives. Towards that end, our classes are offered on a weekly schedule that accommodates the unpredictability of life for busy adults. Rather than meet, on a given day at a given time, each “class” session typically lasts from 12:01 am on Monday until midnight the following Sunday. Students log on to classes, download course materials, complete assignments and participate in class discussions anytime during the 7 day, 24 hour per day time period. All work is completed via the internet, so it isn’t necessary to leave home/work to go to class. In fact, many of our students’ first visit to George Washington University campus is for graduation and even that’s optional.

Our students, come from many health care professions and a variety of backgrounds. This diversity provides a rich learning environment in which students, relate their real-world experiences with each other in a rigorous academic setting. This make for a better learning experience, and interdisciplinary learning.
