Kristie Stover , , Ph.D., CHE

Assistant Professor

Kristie Stover is an assistant professor at George Washington University, School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Department of Clinical management & Health Sciences. Previously, she was an assistant professor and Director of the graduate program in healthcare management at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia. At Marymount, Kristie taught classes in healthcare marketing, strategic planning, finance and reimbursement systems. Before joining Marymount, Kristie was a Research Associate in the Department of Health Administration at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she remains an assistant adjunct professor.

Prior to her work in higher education, Kristie enjoyed a career in hospital administration. She served as senior staff to the Chief Executive Officer of Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Northwestern Memorial Foundation. In this role, her work focused on governance, facility planning, quality projects, strategic and financial planning and philanthropy. Before joining the NMH team, Kristie also worked for Inova Health Systems doing marketing and business development.

Kristie earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Miami University and her graduate degrees (MBA and MS in healthcare management) from Marymount University. She earned her doctorate of philosophy from Virginia Commonwealth University, with a concentration in health administration. Her research interest includes: palliative care, quality, leadership and planning and operations. She is also a Diplomate in the College of Healthcare Executives and remains involved with the professional association.

Kristie lives in Sterling, Virginia with her husband and son - she enjoys reading, playing tennis, and her dog, Oxford.
