Carol Smith , M.S., MT(ASCP)

Education

Ms. Smith received her Baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology from the University of Maryland in 1971. She received her Masters degree in Medical Technology with specialty concentrations in Hematology and Education from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1981.

Professional & Research Interests

Ms. Smith has been Education Coordinator of the Clinical Laboratory Science Program since 1981. She has more than 30 years of experience in the laboratory field. Ms. Smith coordinates the teaching activities of the clinical laboratory science program as well as serving as advisor for military students in the Health Science Laboratory Technology Program. She has a special interest in distance education. Ms. Smith has served on numerous university committees and is active in local and national organizations focused on the profession of clinical laboratory science and health sciences education.
