Entrance Requirements

Prospective students must have an earned bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher, is preferred. RNs with a bachelor's degree in a nursing-related field will be required to take a bridge course.

Undergraduate students may apply for admission if they will receive their bachelor's degree before the first day of classes at GW. Applicants must complete the required application packet before the deadline and notify the Health Sciences Admissions Office of their current student status. Admitted students will be required to submit a final transcript reflecting degree conferral before the first day of classes at GW.

Applicants must have a minimum of a GPA of 3.0 in all graduate course work. The admission committee reserves the right to interview all applicants who have less than a 3.0 GPA for either undergraduate or graduate studies. Applicants must comply with all required university policies regarding student admission requirements.

The GRE is not required for this program.

The ANP Program accepts students for the fall semester each year. The application deadline is March 15. Only completed application packets will be reviewed by the admissions committee. The committee reviews applications only after the March 15 deadline.

Application Process
The GW School of Nursing participates in the online NursingCAS application system (Nursing Central Application Service).  All applicants must submit NursingCAS and GW Supplemental applications to the Office of Admissions for consideration to any nursing programs. Please go to http://www.nursingcas.org/ to begin the NursingCAS and  https://app.applyyourself.com/?id=gwu-smhs for the GW supplemental application.

The fee for using NursingCAS is based on the number of programs the applicant designates. A limited number of application fee waivers are available. Meeting NursingCAS’ eligibility criterion for a fee waiver does not guarantee a waiver will be granted for supplemental application fees.

Please be sure to review the admissions process page for the GWU Health Sciences Programs: http://www.gwumc.edu/healthsci/admissions/process.cfm
