Faculty Resources
The intent of this program is to provide faculty with a series of structured learning opportunities through which they can develop their skills and knowledge in online course development and facilitation. To meet the individual needs of faculty with different abilities and prior experience in online teaching, the program includes a combination of self-assessment, mentoring and group learning experiences. The program is designed to be completed over the course of a year, during which time participants will be working with an Instructional Design mentor to develop a new online course, or improve an existing one.
We will be piloting the program in the Summer of 2010. If you are interested in participating, contact posey@gwu.edu.
After participating in the program, faculty will be able to design, facilitate and continually improve a high-quality blended or fully online course efficiently, effectively and independently. A high-quality course integrates defined best-practices for online teaching, and meets the Quality Matters review expectations.
