
Paul F. Tschudiu , Ed.S, MA, LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) – BA in Sociology (1981) San Diego State University, minor in Health Education, MA in Community Counseling (1991) from The George Washington University, and an Ed.S in Counseling from The George Washington University (2008). Mr. Tschudi has over twenty five years of experience working with people living with life-challenging illness, grief, loss and life transition. He has maintained a private counseling practice for over 15 years. From 1993 until 1997, he served as Executive Director of the St. Francis Center, a center for counseling and educating people living with loss and illness. His interest in end-of-life issues was born out of the experience of serving as a medic in Vietnam 1969-70.
Currently, Mr. Tschudi is a professor in the GWU School of Education and Human Development where he developed a graduate course titled “Living and Dying: A Counseling Perspective” in 1994 as well as a Graduate Certificate in Grief, Loss and Life Transitions through the Counseling Department in 2009. In 2002, Mr. Tschudi became an Assistant Professor in the GWU School of Medicine and Health Sciences where he developed the Graduate Programs in End-of-Life Care: the only multi-disciplinary, on-line programs of their kind in the country with emphasis on spirituality and loss, self-care and the psychosocial aspects of grief and loss, using a multidisciplinary, holistic, compassionate approach to care.
Mr. Tschudi is also a faculty advisor for both the Grief and Loss Educational Consortium team as part of ISCOPES – a student service learning organization and the Student Veterans Association. Mr. Tschudi teaches both graduate and undergraduate courses that focus on caring for care givers, grief and loss and mental health issues. He is also president of GWU chapter of Alpha Eta – the health sciences honor society. In addition, he conducts workshops, retreats and classes for colleges, non-profit organizations and companies addressing issues of loss, grief, bereavement, spiritual and self-care. He has traveled extensively throughout South and SE Asia, Europe, Central America, the U.S. and worked for a year in Saudi Arabia developing orientation and counseling programs for new ex-patriot employees within a multi-national hospital corporation.

This institute is a multi-disciplinary educational program open to graduate level students in mental health programs, counselors, social workers, clergy, chaplains, nurses, marriage and family therapists, psychologist, case managers, and other health and mental health professionals.
