During the clinical phase, students participate in the care of patients under the supervision of clinical preceptors which include physicians, PAs and NPs. Students are exposed to a variety of patients in the various clinical settings and are expected to participate in the care of both acute and chronic medical conditions. We have multiple clinical affiliates throughout DC, Virginia, and Maryland, as well as several in New England.
The clinical curriculum consists of seven core rotations, two electives and one final clinical practicum. The core rotations include impatient medicine, ambulatory care, surgery, pediatrics, emergency medicine, women's health, and behavior medicine. Rotations vary in length from four to eight weeks and occur in a variety of clinical settings. The order in which each student completes the rotations varies.
