The BSHS with a major in Emergency Health Services requires successful completion of 120 credit hours, divided into three degree components: general education (27 credit hours), advanced standing and electives (39 credit hours), and distance education health sciences courses (54 credit hours). Students must complete at least 60 credit hours of GW coursework.
Electives (39 credit hours)
Previously earned college-level coursework will be evaluated for transfer as elective credit. Acceptable transfer coursework must be:
- College-level
- Academic in nature
- Completed at a regionally accredited institution
- Earned with a C or better (C- grades do not transfer)
We award academic credit for some C-School level military training. Additionally, up to 39 credits of advanced standing may be awarded to graduates of non-college based health sciences programs who present appropriate documentation and professional certification (e.g. EMT or RN license).
