The Associate of Science (AS) in Health Sciences is a 72 credit hour degree program. Students are awarded 60 credits of academic credit for completion of an IDC "C" School. Students complete 12 credits of general education to finish the degree requirements.

The general education requirements may be completed by taking coursework at GW or another regionally accredited institution of higher education.

Humanities or Social Sciences
- HSCI 2103: Health Policy and the Health Care System
- HSCI 2105: Current Issues in Bioethics
- HSCI 2107: Health Care in Literature
- HSCI 2111: Development of the Health Care Professions
HSCI 2103 and HSCI 2105 cannot be double-counted for a Humanities/Social Science requirement and a GW Major course; they may only be used to complete one requirement each.
