The George Washington University has been educating health professionals since 1825, when the distinguished work of the School of Medicine and Health Sciences – the 11th oldest medical school in the country – began. Since its inception, The George Washington University has grown and evolved into an esteemed institution of higher education encompassing an internationally recognized School of Medicine and Health Sciences, a hospital, and an ambulatory care facility, referred to collectively as The George Washington University Medical Center. The School of Medicine and Health Sciences is the educational core of The George Washington University Medical Center. It is nationally and internationally recognized for its commitment to advanced health professions education, patient care, research, and community service. |
