ASSISTANTSHIPS IN EXERCISE SCIENCE
Qualifications
Graduate assistants must have a bachelor's degree
from an accredited college or university, with a minimum grade-point
average of 3.00 (on a 4.0 scale). Applicants must be accepted by
the School of Public Health and Health Services for admission to
the graduate program.
Study Options
Graduate assistants in Exercise Science will pursue
a course of study leading to a Master of Science in the field of
Exercise Science.
Compensation
Stipend of $8,000-9,300 for a full assistantship, plus tuition benefits for 9-credit-hours per semester. International students may be required to pay for
one credit hour to maintain full time student status.
Service
Graduate assistants may teach activity courses, teach
undergraduate laboratory classes, maintain the laboratories, assist
with The Exercise, Research, and Service programs assist with the
Athletic Training Education Program, and supervise the Health
and
Wellness Center. Responsibilities are assigned depending upon qualifications.
All assistantships are assigned for an academic year except the
Health
and Wellness Center assistantships are for a full year.
