Goals and ObjectivesGoals and Objectives

The Surgical faculty at The George Washington University is dedicated to providing excellent residency training for the best and brightest students of surgery. Our goal is to create an unusually constructive and productive learning environment in which we emphasize inpatient and outpatient care, technical skills and research. We expect our graduates to be not only technically and clinically superb surgeons but committed individuals who will continue the tradition of life long learning, teaching and the advancing the science of surgery. Our graduating residents are encouraged to proceed with their careers in academic or university-affiliated positions. Our program offers categorical training in General Surgery as well as preliminary training for many surgical subspecialties.

Paul P. Lin, M.D.
Assistant Professor
Program Director, General Surgery
