See first patient of the day
Prepare for surgery (start IV, premedication, epidural/block, lines)
0730-0930

 

 

Patient to OR
Start first case
0830-1030

 

15 min Morning break
1100-1300

 

 

Lunch break, food provided for anesthesia residents in the anesthesia library
1300-(1530-1700)

 

Finish last case of the day, most days end at 1530 when not a call number, however some cases may run later than scheduled.

 

Afterwards:

 

See post-ops from previous day; See any in-house pre-ops for next day
(About 65%-75% of patients are seen in our pre-op clinic)
Discuss the next day's cases with attending
Call numbered residents See FAQ section
Lecture Days 1530-1700 Mondays for CA-1

1530-1700 Tuesday for CA-2 and CA-3

Wednesdays Only

Morning Conference 06:30-0715 for ALL residents

Grand Rounds 0715-0815
