Benefits SalariesFor the current academic year (2005-2006) the PGY salaries are as follows:
Vacation and Meeting AllowanceCA-1 and CA-2 receive 15 days of paid vacation, and 5 days of conference/meeting timeCA-3 receives 20 days
of paid vacation, and 5 days of conference/meeting time Stipend/Education AllowanceThe Department of Anesthesiology has a conference/book stipend available on a yearly basis, and is not cumulative.Currently The CA-3 stipend is 1000 dollars, while CA-1 and CA-2 stipend is 750 dollars. In addition, any weekend anesthesia meeting held in the Washington-Baltimore area will be fully reimbursed after the resident has attended the meeting. The department also pays for resident membership in the American Society of Anesthesiologists during all three years of training, and initial membership in the International Anesthesia Research Society. Residents receive the corresponding journals from these societies and are furnished with a personal copy of a major textbook of anesthesiology. Private Call Rooms Residents are provided with private call rooms, each with a television, computer with high-speed internet access, and telephone. The OR resident's room is adjacent to the main operating room. The OB/Pain resident's room is adjacent to the labor and delivery unit. Evening meal tickets are provided for residents on call (additionally, lunch is provided for all anesthesia residents daily).
