See first patient of the day
Prepare for surgery: start IV, premedication, epidural/block, lines

 

07:30-09:30

Patient to OR
Start first case

 

08:30-10:30

Morning break

 

11:00-13:00

Lunch break, food provided for anesthesia residents in the anesthesia library

 

13:00-15:30/17:00

Finish last case of the day, most days end at 1530 when not a call number, however some cases may run later than scheduled.

 

Afterwards:

See post-ops from previous day; See any in-house pre-ops for next day
(About 65%-75% of patients are seen in our pre-op clinic)
Discuss the next day's cases with attending (in person or by telephone)
