GW SECONDARY APPLICATION

  • In order to access the secondary application, you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you do not have this installed on your computer, please go to www.adobe.com to download the latest version of Reader.
  • All questions should be answered directly on the application. You may type your answers in the designated areas of the application. Please also do your best to fit your pre-medical coursework in the chart provided. Remember we will have access to your AMCAS application if we have questions about your coursework.
  • There are additional instructions on the application. Please read and follow those instructions carefully.
  • Please note that your secondary application cannot be submitted electronically or by fax, as we require an original signature .
  • Once your application is filled out and signed, please print out (2) copies - (1) for your records and (1) to mail (along with your online payment confirmation - see below) to the following address:

  • If you have any questions after reading our website or secondary application, please direct them to medadmit@gwu.edu .
  • Please note that GW does not screen on the basis of the AMCAS application. We invite all applicants who submit an AMCAS application to GW to complete the secondary application and submit letters of recommendation so that we may review the entire file.

GW APPLICATION FEE PAYMENT

  • In order to pay your $125 application fee, please submit payment via credit card through our secure online payment website. Payment by check is no longer an option.
     
  • Please note we only accept Visa or MasterCard. If you cannot pay your fee by credit/debit card, please e-mail our office at medadmit@gwu.edu.
     
  • Once we receive your online payment, you will receive an e-mail confirmation. Please fill in your payment confirmation number on your secondary application.
     
  • If AMCAS has granted you a fee waiver, please attach a copy of the printed email from AMCAS granting you the waiver to your secondary application AND write "Fee Waiver" in the payment box.
     
  • Any U.S. military persons who have been on active duty within three years of applying for admission are eligible for an application fee waiver. Please write MILITARY in the box on the right side of the first page of the secondary application asking for your ‘Fee Payment Authorization Code.
     
  • Please do not make payment more than once, as no refunds will be issued.

DEADLINES

  • The GW Secondary Application and fee must be POSTMARKED BY JANUARY 1, 2010 .
  • The last day to submit your AMCAS application to GW is DECEMBER 1, 2009.
  • All letters of recommendation must be received by AMCAS by JANUARY 1, 2010.

HELPFUL HINTS

  • Due to our rolling admissions process, it is in your best interest to complete your application as soon as possible. To prevent processing delays, please refrain from contacting our office to verify receipt of your application. We will notify you via email upon recieving and processing your secondary.
  • Please ensure that your AMCAS application is complete and verified.
  • As the Office of Admissions will communicate via e-mail regularly, please make sure you list an e-mail address that will be checked frequently on both your AMCAS application and GW Secondary Application.
  • Remember to sign and date your secondary application. We will return any unsigned applications, which will delay the processing of your application. Unsigned applications will not be processed.
  • Remember to fill in your online payment confirmation number or attach your AMCAS fee waiver to your secondary application.
  • If you have any questions regarding required coursework, submissions of letters of recommendations, or any other questions, please refer to our website: www.gwumc.edu/edu/admis .
  • If you have specific questions regarding your application, please e-mail medadmit@gwu.edu . When you e-mail us, please include your AMCAS ID.
  • If you have a change in contact information (address, phone number, and/or e-mail address) at any point during the application process, notify AMCAS and e-mail medadmit@gwu.edu with your changes. Please be sure to include your AMCAS ID.
  • We appreciate your patience during the application season. It will take several weeks to review your file once we have received all your credentials. Once your application is complete and in line for review, you will receive an email notification.
