Barbara A. Soniat, LICSW, Ph.D. Dr. Soniat is an assistant professor of Health Care Sciences. Her research interests include minority aging, older women, informal social networks and community based long term care. Her current research projects include studies of dementia patients who live alone, older persons without close kin (elderly orphans), community intervention models for work with vulnerable older adults, and access to health care for midlife and older minority women.
