DC D-CFAR is a collaboration of five research institutions: The George Washington University (GW), Georgetown University, and Howard University are three prominent, academic and research institutions in Washington, DC. Children's National Medical Center is the largest provider of pediatric and adolescent HIV/AIDS care in DC and has a large HIV/AIDS research program. Lastly, the Veterans Affairs Medical Center is the largest provider of clinical services to HIV-infected veterans in the DC area, and has a large and active HIV/AIDS clinical research program.
