The DC Developmental CFAR is one of 20 CFARs across the country funded through the National Institutes of Health. As stated by the NIH, the mission of the CFAR program is "...to support a multi-disciplinary environment that promotes basic, clinical, epidemiologic, behavioral, and translational research in the prevention, detection, and treatment of HIV infection and AIDS."
