The DC D-CFAR Research Awards Program aims to provide pilot funds on a competitive basis to HIV/AIDS investigators to assist them in the development of their NIH-funded research careers.
For this round of proposals, applications are solicited from Principal Investigators (PI) who are from underrepresented racial and ethnic minority groups and hold a faculty-level appointment at one of the participating DC D-CFAR institutions, including American University, Children's National Medical Center, Georgetown University, The George Washington University, Howard University, and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. To read more about NIH’s guidance on diversity in research, please visit: http://grants.nih.gov/training/faq_diversity.htm
In addition, resubmission applications will also be accepted from investigators, regardless of minority group status, who applied for a previous round of the awards program but did not receive funding. Resubmissions must demonstrate that substantial changes have been made in response to the review provided.
