FACSAria

FACSAria high-speed sorter

A high-speed sorter with a fixed-alignment cuvette flow cell from BD Biosciences, located in Ross Hall 416. Three lasers provide excitation wavelengths of 488 nm, 633 nm and 407 nm. Capable of detecting up to 9 fluorochromes, and sorting (up to 25,000 events per second for lymphocytes; 5,000-8,000 events per second for larger cells) four populations simultaneously. Capable of sorting into multiwell plate or onto slide.

Fee for the FACSAria sorter: $100/hr. The sorter is operated by Core Facility personnel. Investigators will be charged on an hourly basis. Please contact Teresa for request forms.

FACSCalibur

FACSCalibur 4-color analyzer

An analyzer with fixed-alignment cuvette flow cell from BD Biosciences, located in Ross Hall 418. Two lasers provide excitation wavelengths of 488 nm and 635 nm. Capable of detecting up to 4 fluorochromes simultaneously.

Fee for the FACSCalibur analyzer: $25/hr. New users are required to complete a 2-hour training session. Usage of the analyzer requires password log-in. Individual usage charts keep track of the actual time used by each user.

Basic hands-on training for beginners: no charge. Advanced training for special applications: $25/hr.
