EMed Intensive Review
Focus: Only 3 Days, Just The High Priority Topics
Everybody gets rusty, but it is hard to find the time and select the materials to read. Why worry about losing your fund of knowledge when you can readily refresh and update the key cognitive facts of your profession with us? In just the time of 3 shifts (10-12 hours), catch up to 2005. This isn't passive learning. With audience response technology, you will be challenged to interact by answering questions. It will give you an ongoing but anonymous self-assessment because only you will know if you missed the question. This is the ideal venue for those prepping for ConCert (especially if you add the LLSA Immersion Module) or even the written Board exam.
Our course will promptly identify the areas of weakness for further study, plus you can review our comprehensive syllabus to cover all Core EM curriculum topics on your own. Let GW and invited guest faculty get your knowledge base up to speed.

Life-Long Learning and Self-Assessment Module
WARNING: Don't Get Caught Without Your "LLSA Units"! GW and affiliated faculty will summarize the articles and pertinent concepts of the 40 Life-Long Learning and Self-Assessment (LLSA) articles while leading the group in taking the test. Since increasingly ABEM will cover LLSA content on the written Con Cert exam (40% by 2013), faculty will also anticipate questions that might appear on written exams or impact your practice. In the spirit of critical appraisal of the literature, we will evaluate limitations and strengths of the articles. Each passed exam counts as 1 "LLSA Unit". Because an increasing number of these units are pre-requisite to taking the computerized ConCert exam over the coming years while only 3 exams will remain available to take at any one time, it is possible to get caught without enough units to maintain Board certification. For instance, anyone wishing to take ConCert in 2009 or later will not qualify if they postpone taking LLSA exams until that year! This may force candidates to re-take the written and oral board exams with new graduates.
Immersion Modules
After getting honed in your field with the Intensive Review, take 1, 2 or 3 extra days (September 11,12 and 30) to earn the LLSA units required for recertification or to immerse yourself in other skills modules. Mix and match the review course or modules to strengthen competencies without the hassle of having to create the time, methods and materials on your own.
