Executive Training on Navigation and Survivorship: Finding Your Patient Focus
This two-day executive training program will equip decision-makers at resource-strapped organizations with the tools and resources needed to launch and sustain navigation and survivorship programs, two cornerstones of patient-centered care. Participants will learn strategic planning techniques for developing, implementing, evaluating, and sustaining patient navigation and survivorship programs. The training will combine distance-learning and traditional classroom instruction to fully maximize participants' time. Prior to the training, participants will engage in an online webinar discussion that will lay the foundation for skill development during the two-day training in Washington, D.C. At the conclusion of the training, participants will walk away with a formalized business plan for either a survivorship or patient navigation program that will enhance the patient focus of their organization.
Target audience: Clinicians, administrators, and staff of community-based institutions that provide care to cancer patients and survivors.
The next offering of this course will take place in Spring 2011. Dates, times and location will be announced towards the end of Summer 2010. If you would like to be notified when registration is open, please send an email with your contact information to
casnp@gwumc.edu or call (202) 994-4088.
