The Research Center for Genetic Medicine at The Children's National Medical Center under the direction of Eric Hoffman has established a nationally recognized microarray center. The Research Center is rapidly expanding its efforts in applications of microarrays, both in research and diagnostics. Separate NIH grants have been award to the laboratory for expression profiling of the muscular dystrophies, Rett Syndrome, spinal cord disease, and tissue remodeling in cardiopulmonary disease. Nonprofit grants have been received for expression profiling for spinal muscular atrophy, and ALS. |
